U15s vs Cropredy (June 4th)

  • 7th June 2018
A very tight game saw Tew win on the last ball of the match on a very cold and gloomy Monday night. Cropredy won the toss and elected to bat. Against a weakened opposition the Tew bowlers did not do themselves justice, bowling too short and erratically and Cropredy posted a healthy 103 for 6. Will Price was the pick of the bowlers notching up 2 for 11 in his 4 overs.
In reply the Tew batsmen batted with control and poise. Cropredy bowled in good areas and were very hard to score off and it took until the last ball of the day for us to creep past the runs required for the loss of 6 wickets. Ben Sinton scored 47 and batted very sensibly as did Will Price, Tom Rymer, Sam Chopping and Richard Churchill.
We have a lot of areas to work on going forward but the team did well in unseasonable conditions. Thank you very much to Charlie Sinton for umpiring the game and for those who braved the elements to support the boys.
