U15s take on the Swiss National U15 team

  • 9th July 2015

Last night saw the U15s welcome the Swiss U15s team on the first fixture of a 6 day tour. A good time was had by all (despite a rather chilly breeze) and it was a perfect opportunity to see a lot of next year’s Tew team take on opponents in a friendly fixture. Batting first Switzerland scored 107 in their 20 overs. Tom Chesser took 2 for 3 in his 3 overs and James Churchill, whose spell included a hat-trick, ended on 4 for 15. In reply Tew were contained by some accurate Swiss bowling but Olly Doggett, drafted along with Richard Churchill from the U13s, scored a very impressive 25 and it took a typically aggressive innings from James Babbage (retired on 31) to help guide Tew to victory with 3 balls to spare.

Well done to all the players and particularly so to Olly Doggett and Richard Churchill both of whom looked very much a part of the squad.
