Boiling hot day at BNOCC, saw the thirds fielding a mixed adult and junior side and posted a respectable 178 with one man down and the seeing through all the overs. Highlights from Ali Khan '41 and Henry Simmonds '62. Special mention to Alup for batting with a pin still through his thumb and for some stellar performances and mature batting across all the juniors, including but not limited to the Hlustik bros, Hilton Tucker and Thomas. The BNOCC bowlers were more than a match for seasoned players.
We had a longer break than normal as a result of some less important game between England & Sweden and returned after that excitement to field against a couple of seasoned BNOCC batsmen who racked up scores especially of 84, 53 (plus two 8's) for just two wickets and provided our younger bowlers with valuable experience against experienced batsmen. They held their own and some great catches in the field from Jack Williams-Sharkey to Thomas James' bowling. Jack also nailed a plum LBW against their No2. Regrettably BNOCC got the requisite runs within 27 overs, but they did host us very well for a memorable world cup and a fine tea..
