3rd XI in nail biter at Didcot (25th July)
Winning the toss we elected to bowl and with Didcot at 85 without loss after 16 overs this was looking a poor decision! However, we clawed our way back in and at 160 for 8 felt much more comfortable, only to end up bowling them out for 216. Will Priscott with 2 for 19 and Jamie King with 2 for 39 were the pick of the bowlers along with Simon Priscott who took 4 for 39. In reply we started catastrophically and at 39 for 6 things were very gloomy. However, a wonderful knock by Angus Brown (44) supported by a pugnacious 26 from Will Priscott started to edge us closer to the target. In the end, however, we fell short and were bowled out for 144. A tough day for us only compounded by not having an umpire and with the resultant penalty only returning with 2 points.
