FANTASY LEAGUE
The league table for AUGUST has now been updated and posted...

ANNUAL 6-a-side DAYS (Sunday & Monday Bank Holiday weekend)
Thank you to everyone who helped over the two days - but particularly Paul Woolley, Paul Catling, Dave Freeman and our indefatigable groundsmen Gordon, Eric and Kev. We managed to more or less dodge the worst of the weather on Sunday and Monday was a much better day.
Well done to Oxford Downs (U13), Charlbury (U15) and Tew Colts (Mens) on winning. Well done also to all teams that took part and played the game in the right spirit, especially Oxford who lost in the closest final for years by just a single run. We hope to see you all again next year.

"THE GREAT TEW CHOICE"
This week's results (28/8/10):
Total: TBA
£1 to enter each week. Simply guess the total runs to be scored by the 1st XI + 2nd XI + 3rd XI in their Cherwell League matches.
If the actual total matches any entry exactly, 50% of the 'pot' will be awarded as prize money. If there are no winners, the 'pot' rolls over to the next week, and so on.
Closing time for entries is 12 noon on match day (Saturdays).
If a team doesn't play (for whatever reason) then a score of 100 will be allocated.
For any further details and to make your entry, see Andy Harris.
Balance of revenues will be going to club funds. Please enter generously.

NEW CLUB CAPS
The new caps will only be available from the club. Caps will be available (hopefully) for purchase from the end-of-season 'do' onwards. Details will be published shortly...

Cherwell League week 17
1st XI - WON
2nd XI - WON - Div 5   C H A M P I O N S
3rd XI - WON

The 1s overcame basement outfit Challow, Arf Smith taking 4-34. A decent result next week should ensure third place.
The 2s took maximum points at Didcot to wrap-up the Division 5 title. Kev Taylor taking 5-46. Well done to everyone who has contributed to the team's efforts and successes this season. Also, thanks to Didcot for possibly the best teas in the league this season - what terrific cakes!
The 3s did a great job seeing off Kimble to maintain their faint but possible chances of gaining promotion to Division 7. Declaring on 201-4, Tom Young with 78 and Cameron Kelly with 64*, it was crucial to bowl the opposition out. Steve 'Mutley' Murrey duly obliged taking 7-17 and Kimble all out for 53.

CLUB KIT
Following discussions, it has been agreed that all senior players will be required to be fully attired in Tew kit for all matches.
Suitable kit can be purchased from Martin Berrill Sports as per usual. Order early to ensure delivery is in time for the season's start.
In a similar vein, all 3rd XI players will be expected to arrive sporting the club's navy polo shirt for the 2010 season.

KIT SIZING GUIDANCE
Sizing Guidance...
Navy blue sweatshirts and hooded-tops are probably best ordered as ONE size LARGER than your normal playing shirt, e.g. L becomes XL.
The smarter ('casual-wear') version of the navy blue 'polo' style shirt is probably best ordered as ONE size SMALLER than your normal playing shirt, i.e., XL becomes L.
Please see the Club Clothing section for an order form and more details.

Outgrown kit
Do any of you have any old cricket tops, that your children have outgrown, that would be useful to someone else? If you do, please bring them along on Friday and put them in our 'recycling box' by the Tew Centre bar. Anyone who puts something in can swap it for another item in the box. If you are just taking something out of the box, all we ask for is a small donation in return to the Club.
